Rio Audio pioneered portable digital audio technology in 1998. In 2004, Rio had become the world’s number one brand of portable MP3 players by developing a host of award-winning portables. The project was to create a refresh of the current Rio retail packaging. The purpose of the refresh was to make the packages perform better in store—whether on
a j-hook or in a case—in poor lighting conditions, or under direct light. Product needed to be hero and product features easy to see and distinguish.
